Let’s face it, 2020 hasn’t been the year most of us thought it would.  A worldwide pandemic, social unrest, unprecedented wildfires, and all manner of political drama.  And there’s still a few months to go!

Despite all the challenges that businesses and the economy have faced, we’ve been truly blessed to be able to continue to expand our products and services this year, and, more importantly, that expansion has allowed us to not only keep our teams largely intact at all of our locations, but also, to grow them.  

With that being said, we’d like to take a moment to welcome Melissa Zahorodniuk to the Expertec family! 

Melissa is an Alberta native, growing up east of Edmonton, and she has recently joined the Expertec Edmonton team in a role handling our customer service.  We had a chance to ask her a little about her new job and how she planned to use her previous career experience for serving our clients and she had this to say.

“I really see ‘Customer Service’ as everything, you know?  It’s about keeping lines of communication open both ways; it’s as simple as sending an email and as difficult as helping make sure that everything gets done, despite how complicated personal and business schedules are these days are. 

“I like to think of it as persistence.  At Expertec, I get to use my own knowledge of the automotive industry… but instead of having to handle a myriad of variables like rentals or keeping up with sales and leasing teams, I can use those skills to focus on one thing – taking care of our customers.  It’s exciting to be able to concentrate on that one goal.”

In the course of the conversation, Ms. Zahorodniuk mentioned several of the most important things that had led to her decision to join Expertec.  “Oh, by far, it is the local feel and the impact we make in each of our stores and communities.  At the same time, the fact we are a family owned business that stresses work-life balance in a day and age where most businesses have forgotten what it means.”

Perhaps most exciting in all this is the simple fact that Melissa joining our team continues to help us achieve our goals of the highest customer service standards in the industry.  While her primary focus is our Edmonton facility, we’re certain that Melissa’s knowledge, skills, and experience will continue to help us prioritize how Expertec takes care of every one of our clients in all of our locations. 

It just goes to show that even in the midst of all the uncertainty, the people you need to help you grow, whether personally or professionally, will always find you when the time is right.  We’re happy to have Melissa on the team and even more excited to be able to continue to have the highest customer satisfaction in the fleet upfitting industry!
